Why PortableRAG exists

I built PortableRAG because the documents people most want AI help with are often the ones they cannot safely upload to cloud tools. Lawyers with client files. Doctors with patient records. Founders with cap tables and board notes. The more sensitive the document, the more useful AI would be — and the less anyone can risk sending it to someone else's server.

PortableRAG is my attempt to close that gap: a private AI workspace that runs on your own computer, so you get the benefit of AI-assisted document search without the trade-off.
